EVR Lite: It's just right – for the right kind of agency

In August 2021, the RMV launched Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR) Lite so that insurance agents could register and title vehicles electronically, along with some additional registry transactions. Now almost 100 agencies are harnessing this breakthrough technology and making a real difference for their insureds (and their agency staff). Take a moment to consider all the benefits and whether it makes sense for you to apply.

BENEFITS TO YOUR AGENCY:

Provide better customer service

Your customers won’t have to take a day off from work to go to the RMV branch to wait in line. No more runners either, which can often take 1-2 days.

Review requirements

Learn more about what it takes to become an EVR Lite agent.

Get approval

Submit the form below to begin the approval process.

Steps for getting RMV approval:

The first thing you need to do is prove to the RMV that your agency processes at least 10 new RTAs or Registration transfers every month. To demonstrate you can meet this threshold, you will need to create a list of your RTA volume for the last two months. The list needs only to include your insured namesaddresses, and VINs for each RTA you processed over the previous two months. You can save it as a Word or Excel doc.

We have set up a safe, secure, streamlined way of uploading this information to the RMV. Just provide the basic information requested below and we will send you a link for uploading your list. We will also provide you with Word and Excel templates.

Once you upload your list, please allow seven days for the RMV to complete its review. Boston Software and the RMV will send you an email informing you of your approval status. If approved, Boston Software will send you a separate email with a secure link to the EVR Lite Welcome Packet, which details all the forms and requirements to become an EVR Lite agent.
