At the start of 2023, we’d like to highlight the importance of providing an insurance quote to your customers and prospects. It is something that can be easily taken for granted. And, as Ferris Bueller once said, if you don’t look around once in a while you’ll miss the good things in life.
Insurance agents are not selling tee-shirts or gym memberships, where a quote can be generated very easily…basically off the top of your head.
As you well know, providing your customer with an accurate, comprehensive Auto or Home insurance quote takes time and know-how. You are providing a critical service that requires professionalism, care, and competency. You have to guide your customer through the various coverage and carrier options, which can be complicated and difficult to explain (in language your customers can understand). Of course you have to answer plenty of follow up questions that are specific to each risk, coverage, and carrier. Ultimately you have to provide the right advice to help arrive at the optimal coverages at the best price. In doing so, you serve and protect your customers. And you also strengthen the overall value independent agents provide to all MA insurance shoppers.
You can take a lot of personal and professional pride in that! We hope you do. As we have said in the past, it’s easy to get bogged down and only do the most pressing work that is right in front of us…and maybe even complain while doing it. But when we step back and gain a little perspective we can see that quoting insurance may be hard and cumbersome, but it is one of the good things. It means you are canvassing and connecting with prospects. You are providing legit value to your community. And it means you are selling and, therefore, surviving and probably even thriving.
We humans are at our best when we work together and work with intention. So at the start of this year, let’s remind ourselves that we are strong and we can do hard things. Please know that all of us at Boston Software are there in the quoting “trenches” with you!
